Time for the Group E preview of the Ales Hrebesky Memorial. This is easily the best looking group in the Tournament? Why you ask? Well because all teams have had their jersey’s made by Uncommon Fit. The group has an international flavour  featuring the Nova Scotia Privateers, Bundeswehr Lacrosse and the Glasgow Clydesiders. Check out our team descriptions below.

Nova Scotia Privateers  (2015 Result 13th Place)

Nova Scotia PrivateersFor the Privateers this will be their 8th Tournament from where they’ve come close to winning to their worst result last year. The past 4 years have seem them go the opposite direction. In 2012 -2015 they finished in 3rd place, 4th, 9th and 13th place. Needless to say the team is looking to reverse this trend and crack the top 10 again and possible get a shot at the final four. The Privateers are defanitely capable of beating top teams – they lost to both the Megamen and Custodes only by 2 and 3 goals respectively last year. The biggest loss in the lineup is  Chet Koneczny who used to play for the Colorado Mammoth. Some of their top scorers from last year will be back such as Jamie Dunbar, Jay Titchmarsh and Luke Parker.  Their goaltending duty will be split again this year between Matt Cote and Mitch Hannigan. Look for the Privateers to narrowly win this group and get a 2nd round matchup against the Dublin Riggers. 2016 Prediction 4-8

Bundeswehr Lacrosse (2015 Result 7th Place)

bundeswehrBundeswehr Lacrosse which is made up of players from the German Army where one of the biggest surprises last year. They finished a fantastic 7th place which was a big improvement from the year before where they ended up in 14th. The biggest question for this team has to be the goaltending. Star netminder Tilo Fuchs is out with an injury so his replacement will need to step up. If all their players make it they’ll have solid players in all key positions it’s just a matter of depth. On defense they’ll have Matthias Lehna and Max Bieber locking down the house. Their offense is led by Wolfgang Grießl, Tim Wunderlich and Alex Frey. The group will come down to their game against the Privateers which could really go either way but we see this team falling short. Bundeswehr will probably face a tough 2nd round matchup against the home favourite LC Custodes. 2016 Prediction 7-11

Glasgow Clydesiders (2015 Results 17th Place)

Glasgow ClydesidersThe Glasgow Clydesiders seem to have something with the number 17. Maybe it’s a lucky number in Scotland or they’re a supertitious team. Either way in the past the Memorials they’ve entered, 17th place has always been where they finished. Indoor Lacrosse is still developing in Scotland and this team should be made up with some North American exports. They’ll be led by the Sinclair brothers who founded the team in the summer of 2012. Goalie Dylan Cowman will face a lot of shots again and will need to have a good tournament if they are to improve on their past finished. While the games will be close the Clydesiders should fall to 3rd in this group. 2016 Prediction 17-21
